Western Illinois University offers a unique master’s degree in museum studies. Through interdisciplinary coursework and hands-on learning, our program prepares students for dynamic careers in museums, cultural institutions, and heritage organizations.

The 34 s.h. MA in Museum Studies program includes an interdisciplinary curriculum that builds upon each student’s previous studies while teaching about the essential topics of education and engagement; social justice and ethics; curatorial practice and material culture; exhibitions and interpretation; collections management and heritage preservation; museum administration and financial management; and new technologies.
